Artist's Comments
This was our latest assignment in my Interpretive Illustration class. We were to design a subscription card for a magazine, making something that someone would actually want to keep.
So I decided to go with Vogue and make a series of prints that would appear on the subscription cards. I made these really gestural to contrast it with the cropped type, which as you see it spell out Vogue. I was going for a fashion illustration look. So this is not the typeface they use for Vogue, I don't really feel like paying $50 for it, so I used a type that closely resembles it. I am in no way associated with Vogue Magazine. Done with acrylic, and conte. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
